The RMU-Radio Program Director is the student worker responsible for the day-to-day operations of RMU-Radio, engaging with all Academic Media Center (AMC) student, staff, and faculty stakeholders to provide access to this vital community resource. Working closely with the RMU Radio Graduate Assistant, the Radio Club, RMU TV and Sentry Media, as well as the staff Radio and Television Engineer, the Program Manager is responsible for program scheduling, host training, and radio events, as well as representing RMU Radio to the campus and wider student media communities.
The Program Manager schedules and maintain an accurate record of RMU Radio's Live programming and podcasts, keeps a record of radio show sign ups, and works with the staff Radio and Television Engineer to train radio crew members and producers (student, staff and faculty) on the use of RMU Radio's equipment and policies. The Program Manager coordinates with Radio Club officers to support regular club meetings, attends all meetings on behalf of the AMC, and works with the Radio Graduate Assistant to represent RMU-Radio to the campus community. The Program Manager assists radio hosts, producers, and AMC staff with the selection and submission of student work for school, regional, and national awards. Finally, the Program Manager coordinates student, staff, and faculty staff participation in RMU-Radio Remote Broadcasts. Other duties as directed - All paid student AMC personnel must work at least five hours on designated non-show AMC projects or outside productions per semester and attend at least one AMC skills development workshop.
Minimum Qualifications:
All majors are welcome, regardless of prior experience in radio. Active membership (before and during the work-study) in Radio Club is strongly encouraged.
