About the department / center:
The ID Card Office is a critical unit at the University of Delaware, distributing the UD ONEcard (Official name of the ID Card) throughout the campus community. The ID Card Office falls under the Central IT/Gevernance & Client Support (IT-GCS) department and is often the first point of contact for students, faculty/staff, and affiliates.
Role Description:
The ID Card Office, under the direction of Central IT (Client Support & Services) is seeking, responsible, motivated undergraduate students to assist with ONEcard production management. Primary responsibilities include card issuance, production control, and data retention (filing).
The ID Card Office is responsible for card issuance across our spectrum of affiliations, which include Students, Faculty/Staff, Employee Spouses, Aramark Staff, Osher Academy of Lifelong Learning, College School, English Language Institute, and various special visitors and programs on campus. The ID Card office is also responsible for ensuring proper access to the correct populations for the Carpenter Sports Building, Residence Halls, Morris Library, and others.
Under the supervision of the ID Card Services Representative, student workers are on the front line of our office, representing the ID Card Office. This includes ID card production, enforcement of ID-related policies, filing management, and general office responsibilities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce ID Cards for students, faculty and staff, including new and replacement cards. Produce ID Cards and other ID badges for special populations and purposes, including special department affiliates, Aramark Staff, ELI students, Spouse cards, and OLLI members.
- Collaborate with representatives of various campus offices on troubleshooting related to ID cards and card access, including, but not limited to, Network and Systems Services, Auxiliary Financial and Support Services, User Services, Student Health Services, and CSB Privilege verification.
- File control cards
- Assist with the needs of those at the front counter, either referring them to other departments or resolving any issues they might have regarding their Campus ID.
- Troubleshoot printer issues, replace printer consumables or refill card stock.
- Answer incoming calls from the general ID Office phone
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be eligible for Federal or State Work-Study Grant
- Ability to communicate and interact well with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Data/systems management experience preferred.
- Possess the highest degree of integrity and maturity due to the sensitive, confidential nature of students' records.
