Elgin Community College seeks adjunct instructors to teach 3D studio art courses. The courses which may be assigned include ART-111 Jewelry I, ART-112 Jewelry II, ART-103 Sculpture I, ART-104 Sculpture II, and ART-110 Design II (3D Foundations). These courses provide foundational and more advanced techniques in using three-dimensional media as well as digital tools. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Fine Arts degree in studio discipline or a master’s degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in a 3D studio discipline (e.g. sculpture, 3D design, ceramics, metalsmith). Professional experience including professional exhibitions, residencies, portfolios or other professional work may be considered in addition. The successful candidate is expected to 1) design lessons/units that promote critical thinking through student-content and student-to-student learning activities, 2) foster a supportive learning environment for students by employing evidence-based instructional strategies, and 3) demonstrate commitment to student learning and teaching effectiveness.
Theatre Adjunct Faculty - Fall 2024	Elgin, IL
Elgin Community College seeks an adjunct instructor to teach multiple general education/survey courses that are offered through our Theatre department. The courses which may be assigned include THE-100 Theatre Appreciation, THE-122 Introduction to Theatre History & Literature, and THE124 American Drama. Each course introduces students to theatre as a performing art through examination of historical, social and other factors that contribute to understanding the function and meaning of these works of art. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in theatre or another type of master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in theatre. The successful candidate is expected to 1) design lessons/units that promote critical thinking through student-content and student-to-student learning activities, 2) foster a supportive learning environment for students by employing evidence-based instructional strategies, and 3) demonstrate commitment to student learning and teaching effectiveness. Preferred applicants will have prior experience teaching in both in-person and virtual (online asynchronous) modalities.
