Work Schedule:

 

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification works in collaboration with end users, Information Technology staff and the Director of Student and Academic Systems to address reported issues, reported issues, user requests, system maintenance tasks and project implementations.  Work involves the ability to serve as the technical liaison for technology systems and solutions used to support TLSD operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or related field and two years of experience providing technical support to end users which include developing training materials and related documentation.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, database applications and college-based programs and applications
  • Working skill in problem solving and trouble shooting technical issues
  • Working skill in database management and troubleshooting end user issues
  • Working skill in verbal and written communication
  • Working skill in prioritizing work to maintain effective levels of service and meet established deadlines
  • Working skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees and with the public

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

Essential Duties:

  1. Serves as the first point of contact by providing support and direction to end users by responding to technical inquiries regarding errors, problems or questions about student systems used in TLSD.
  2. Researches and resolves technical issues, escalating as necessary and collaborating with the Information Technology staff.
  3. Assists in design, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of student processes and provides guidance in developing programming specs for student system.
  4. Tests changes, upgrades and patches implemented within the system, identifies potential impacts and communicates results.
  5. Ensures data integrity and data quality by establishing, implementing and monitoring quality control processes.
  6. Runs and distributes reports as needed.
  7. Creates end user documentation and training as needed.
  8. Keeps up-to-date on systems and related technology.
  9. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information.

Other Duties:

  1. May be required to work evenings and Saturdays during peak periods, system upgrades or during unexpected system downtimes. .
  2. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
