Job Summary:

An employee in this classification is responsible for performing work of considerable difficulty providing operational support to the Division including coordination of assessment processes and completion of faculty observation. Work is distinguished by the ability to represent the Dean and the Division as needed

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Completion of a Master's Degree in a a field related to the assigned division and five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education which included two years supervising staff in addition to three years of teaching experience in one of the disciplines represented within the division; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Considerable knowledge of instructional technology methods and practices.
3. Considerable knowledge of faculty observation practices and procedures.
4. Considerable knowledge of articulation, assessment and accreditation guidelines and processes.
5. Good knowledge of budgetary practices and policies.
6. Considerable skill in communicating and collaborating with administrators, faculty, staff, and community partners.
7. Considerable skill in verbal and written communications.
8. Working skill in completing faculty evaluations.
9. Working skill in data evaluation, interpretation and reporting.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

Essential Duties:

1. Assist the Dean in the recruitment, hiring, supervision, evaluation, professional development and retention of divisional faculty, administrators and support staff, while working within the collective bargaining agreements.
2. Assist faculty in curriculum and and program development/expansion projects.
3. Assist the Dean in developing and monitoring of the division budgets to ensure accurate budget/fiscal reporting in compliance with established College accounting principles and procedures.
4. Assist the Dean in tracking course assessment activities, monitoring accreditation activities and clinical affiliations.
5. Assist the Dean in grant proposal writing and implementations. Oversee grant compliance and data collection/reporting procedures.
6. Assist faculty in program review and program assessment activities.
7. Serve as the Dean’s designee at meetings/during committee work.
8. Assist the Dean in managing the facilities within the division.
9. Assist the Dean in development of the division's vision and implementing subsequent details.
10. Demonstrate appreciation and respect for diversity and multicultural awareness.

Other Duties:

1. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description.
2. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
