Work Schedule:

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday

Rate of Pay:

$63,529, starting annual rate of pay.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of considerable difficulty developing the College's messaging, content and creative assets to align with ECC's institutional brand. Work is distinguished by the ability to effectively translate goals, information and messages into high-quality content that aligns with the Marketing department's strategic plan. General supervision is received from the Senior Director Digital Communications & Creative Services.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Master’s degree in communications, marketing, English or a related field, 5 years experience in strategic content development and 3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Considerable skill adapting messages across a broad spectrum of mediums and audiences.
3. Considerable knowledge of institutional goals and priorities.
4. Considerable skill in written, verbal, and visual communication including the ability to present ideas and information clearly, effectively and persuasively.
5. Considerable skill in the managing and evaluating large-scale, continuous volumes of creative output that align multiple creative disciplines such as writing, graphic design, photography, videography, printing, research, web-based and digital communications, internet and intranet, etc.
6. Considerable knowledge of project management practices and procedures.
7. Considerable skill organizing and delegating assignments within the team
8. Considerable content development skills including, but not limited to, writing, editing, proof reading, publication production, printing, statistical research and analysis, website content, photography, scriptwriting and videography, speech- and letter-writing, and/or social media.
9. Considerable knowledge of AP Style editing guidelines and other editorial standards and copy-editing techniques
10. Considerable knowledge of best practices for integrated marketing communications planning and implementation.
11. Considerable skill in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet research tools, project management/workflow systems, and analytics tools.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Essential Duties:

1. Lead the development of multi-faceted content that drives the college’s strategic messages and goals.
2. Establish expectations and standards for all forms of content (video, photo, design, written, print, digital).
3. Maximize design efforts for print and digital mediums while upholding brand standards.
4. Maintain a broad, current understanding of ECC’s strategic goals and messaging needs as well as a knowledge base of classes, programs, facilities, stakeholders, and staff.
5. Work cross-functionally with Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, the Senior Director of Digital Communications and Social Media and Senior Director of Marketing Strategy in efforts geared toward upholding college brand standards to ensure that key messages and institutional facts are consistent across media, including publications, online, and externally.
6. Manage creative team.
7. Manages large-scale projects and numerous competing deadlines.
8. Keeps up to date with emerging trends, best practices and appropriate applications impacting higher education.
9. Understands the needs of a diverse faculty, staff, and student body in a college setting.
10. Provide support to crisis communications team, as needed.

1. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.
