Job Summary:

An employee in this class performs work of moderate difficulty by providing marketing services to all levels of the College. Work is distinguished by the ability to effectively work with clients in determining their needs and creating work product that meets their marketing goals. General supervision is received from the Senior Director of Marketing Strategy.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of training and experience.
2. Five years’ experience in marketing or communications field.
3. Working skill in writing copy for marketing and communications pieces (Web, Print ads, radio ads, press releases, postcards, letters, speeches, brochures and catalogs, etc.).
4. Good knowledge of print, graphic design, photo and video production processes.
5. Considerable skill in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
6. Considerable skill in oral and written communication.
7. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Good knowledge of the fundamentals of market research.
2. Good knowledge of digital marketing

Essential Duties:

  1. 1. Serve as main point of contact and marketing communications advisor for internal clients and at the institutional level.
    2. Oversee client relationships, determine clients’ requirements to assist them in achieving their marketing goals.
    3. Research and develop marketing communications strategies at the department, division, and event level, making certain they integrate fully with institutional marketing strategy, create and increase brand awareness, and create institutional-level marketing communications strategies.
    4. Devise mix of tactics and write marketing plans to support plan’s strategies.
    5. Create, build, execute and monitor email campaigns—collaborate to establish metrics, monitor and report performance for each campaign.
    6. Write key messages that support overarching strategies and copy that supports key messages in multiple media.
    7. Project-manage the execution of all tactics resulting from numerous plans through different states of development, collaborating with full marketing communications team.
    8. Measure and evaluate the success of tactics and plans.
    9. Contribute to the continual improvement processes/best practices of the department.
  2. 10. Participate on crisis communications team.
