Department Overview:

University Health Services (UHS) offers award-winning, high quality medical, mental health, prevention, and wellness services to enrolled UW-Madison students. As part of UHS, the UHS Data & Quality Team analyzes and shares health-related data and assists in the design and implementation of healthcare quality improvement projects. The Data & Quality Analysis Assistants will support health-related data and quality needs at UHS.

Minimum: 5 Maximum: 20

Schedule:

2-3 days mostly remote during the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm with potential afterhours remote work

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Minimum: $13.00 Maximum: $16.00

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience in data analysis, quality improvement processes, electronic medical record data, or an interest in learning
• Experience with any statistical and/or survey programs would be valuable but not required. We are particularly looking for individuals with experience or training in PowerBI, SQL, SAS or R.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated project management and time management skills
• Demonstrated attention to details
• Experience in program assessment and evaluation, including qualitative and quantitative results analysis
• Experience or training in Qualtrics, NVivo, Tableau and Excel is also welcome for these position
• Skills and experience with the development and maintenance of metadata repositories.
• Completed IRB training

Position Summary/Job Duties:

University Health Services is committed to a data-informed healthcare and public health strategy. In partnership with UHS staff, the duties of these four positions could include:
• The Health Data & Quality Analysis Assistants would assist the Data & Quality Team Analysts with data extraction and analysis from our electronic health record, and from campus surveys of student health and wellbeing.
• Analyze data related to delivery of healthcare services at UHS
• Prepare data briefs for UHS staff and leadership
• Assist with quality improvement projects at UHS
• Assist with patient satisfaction surveys
• Work with other UHS Data & Quality staff on data needs as requested
• Help create and analyze UW-Madison-specific survey instruments that include both qualitative and quantitative data collection.
• Conduct data downloads and extractions related to the UHS KPI dashboard
• Designing and analyzing program assessments and evaluations.
• Developing a metadata repository for current and historical data.
