“Mercedes AMG HPP are seeking a Powerunit Assembly Technician – Vehicle Support to join our world championship winning team at Brixworth.” To ensure we maximise car running time by efficiently preparing The V6, Turbo charger and ERS for running and maintaining the entire power unit for tests and running in vehicle. A resident build expert with overall knowledge of the powerunit assembly and techniques to allow ease if maintenance and component swapping of any sub assembly or auxiliary part as required on specific areas of the powerunit.

Success in this role will be if you…

  • Completion of mechanical or electrical operations at the track  to produce or maintain components or assemblies in a Safe manner, to the determined quality standard, consistent with prevailing processes or standard operating procedures applicable at the time. To Include;
  • - Set up and operate garage workspace and equipment
  • - Prepare Powerunit checklists ready for use
  • - Dress Powerunit for chassis installation
  • - Prepare oils and fluids for use
  • - Prepare Powerunit for installation in chassis (Safety check ESS, Condition, Fill and Bleed water and oil systems as per process defined)
  • - Act on updates given via programme managers
  • - Ensure accurate data is entered for product traceability (e.g. Serialisation and Cleco)
  • - Support the fire up of engines at the request of the team and release and manage engine cooling / status
  • - Routinely liaise with PU engineers and PM’s
  • - Highlight Faults and issues as they arise and report through relevant business system
  • - Attending X1 tests as necessary and planned (or reacting to late requests)
  • - Support departmental Quality and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • - At Factory support PU activities on both product and services to support on-going events (e.g. Calibration, Spares replenishment etc.)

Must be fully competent in Pump, Motor, Turbocharger, exhaust, Energy storage system and clutch Installation and swaps

Have experience of...


Demonstrate knowledge of...

  • Understanding essential areas of Atlas to support PU operation.

Desirable - ERS System installation, Servicing, safety checking and preparation for use


Hold these qualifications...

Desirable - Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship or similar relevant experience.
