If you're successful in this role, you'll…

  • Advise on the business software development requirements.
  • Providing support and development solutions
  • Breaking down large scale data processes into lifecycle projects / programmes and manageable work packages
  • Defining database solutions based on cost benefit, analysis, research and fit to the IT strategy
  • Agree plans, specs and timelines with the business owner(s)
  • Liaise with Project Team what is required and overseeing the progress
  • Produce documents that monitor progress and ensure the quality of the projects
  • Keep up-to-date on the changes in software development approach, supporting technology (tooling), best practices and emerging platforms keep abreast of development and database technology developments that may be beneficial to the business
  • Present technology advancements to the team. Find gateway projects for the new technology where appropriate and elicit business buy-in according to business goals, challenges and budget work closely with fellow architects ref solutions, integration and change management.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for service operations and support 3rd line roles
  • Monitor and act upon data KPI’s
  • Own the respective virtual ISO 20000 roles associated with technical architecture
  • Work with in the defined ISO 20000 domain structures, processes and operating models
  • Deliver end to end solutions that comply with compliance, legal and security regulations

  • Proven certified project management experience using scrum / agile methodology
  • Experience with working both with in small flexible organisations and large corporate environments

Demonstrate knowledge of…       

  • Deep knowledge of software development process using the Microsoft stack
  • Awareness of alternative stacks and platforms (Node, Java, cloud)
  • Deep knowledge of at least two of the three main Database stacks applicable to HPP business, e.g. Microsoft, Oracle and IBM
  • Good knowledge of BI, warehouse and reporting technologies, at least covering two of the main mainstream applications, e.g. Tableau, Microstrategy, Spotfire or Qlik
  • Founded knowledge of engineering tools, such as MATLAB and Simulink
  • Extensive knowledge of quality, security, legal and compliance standards / best practice
  • Keep abreast of technology developments that may be beneficial to the business by introducing new technologies within project time, budget, risk and stakeholder management constraints
  • Very good knowledge of the software development lifecycle, among others object oriented development, design patterns,
  • refactoring and code reviews
  • Desirable

    Knowledge of at least two software development stacks (e.g. Microsoft, J2EE and Java / Android, AWS and Azure)

Hold these qualifications...


  • Experience in an IT environment, combined with Good planning and personal communication skills.
  • Computer science / IT Degree or equivalent
  • Certifications in Microsoft, IBM or Oracle Databases
  • Certification in current development languages and techniques


  • Formal project and change management certification
  • Formal Information security certification
