Support operation of the FE power unit at track tests, media days, in the simulator and on the dyno. Ensure power unit safety, legality, functionality, health and optimal performance at all times. Become the point of liaison between the chassis team and the HPP factory, reporting performance, issues and requests in a concise and timely manner.

Be skilled at…

  • Leading the power unit engineering effort for a particular event
  • Applying first principles to create practical engineering solutions
  • Taking ownership of the management of Power Unit calibration and health
  • Trouble-shooting technically; creative way of problem solving
  • Creating and using performance analysis tools and methods such as lap simulation
  • Dealing with ambiguity under pressure and still being decisive and considered

Have experience of…

  • Operating in a trackside environment, ideally running high performance electrical or hybrid systems
  • Analysing data and interpreting it in short timescales

Demonstrate knowledge of…

  • The operation of an electrical power unit and its interaction with the vehicle.
  • Atlas, System Monitor, MATLAB, Simulink, Excel

Hold these qualifications…

  • Degree qualified (2:1 minimum) in an appropriate engineering discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics)
