Administers servers and network services utilized by over 1200 departmental users in Student Affairs. Assures confidentiality, availability and integrity of user data and systems. Maintains patches and updates for applications, servers, desktop and mobile computers, including Windows, Mac OSX and Linux systems. Creates and maintains technical documentation. Evaluates and tests software and hardware upgrades for the server infrastructure. Designs, maintains, and monitors procedures for server data backup and restoration. Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves computer and server issues or contacts other technical resources to assist in prompt restoration of services. Maintains communications with Associate Director of IT on all tasks and projects.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or related field and/or equivalent related experience. Demonstrated experience with Windows and Linux server technology in a production environment. Experience testing and deploying software and hardware upgrades. Experience maintaining and monitoring procedures for server backups. Working knowledge of Mac OS and Windows operating systems. Must possess excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate as a member of a team. Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and manage multiple assignments.
Experience with administration of Virtual Machines. Demonstrated knowledge of disaster recovery. Experience with server log analysis. SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 experience.
