Job Description

To support the College of Veterinary Medicine curriculum, which is designed using the Multidiscipline Laboratory (MDL) concept where a central staff provides support and technical assistance for student labs. This position provides primary laboratory coordination and support for the first through third year curriculum that includes surgery and anesthesia.

Required Qualifications

Considerable knowledge and experience in general laboratory operations and equipment including experience in a veterinary practice. Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). Previous teaching lab support. Experience and familiarity with veterinary anesthesia machines, veterinary surgical instruments, veterinary procedures and veterinary terminology is required. Basic knowledge in animal handling and restraint. Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently with little supervision. Knowledge of computers with emphasis on word processing and simple spreadsheets.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Biology, Animal Science, Dairy Science, Veterinary Technology or related area.
