The Announcer and Master Control Operator supports the seamless and professional delivery of broadcast content for WVTF and RADIO IQ, across both radio and digital platforms. This position performs on-air hosting duties, operates master control systems, ensures programming accuracy, and maintains broadcast quality standards. In addition to announcing responsibilities, the role includes quality control monitoring, off-air content preparation, and technical troubleshooting. The position requires adherence to FCC regulations and station policies while upholding the core values of public radio. Ideal candidates will bring strong technical expertise, editorial judgment, and a professional on-air presence.
• Demonstrated on-air broadcasting experience with professional delivery suitable for public radio.
• Proven experience operating digital audio consoles and automation systems.
• Documented proficiency in digital audio production and editing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of FCC regulations relevant to broadcast radio.
• Experience monitoring and maintaining broadcast, stream, and transmitter operations.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and escalate real-time technical issues.
• Strong written communication skills with experience in news script development.
• Demonstrated proficiency with broadcast software (e.g., Wide Orbit) and standard computer applications.
• Proven ability to work independently and maintain composure under pressure during live broadcasts.
• Experience working in a public radio or newsroom environment.
• Familiarity with WVTF/RADIO IQ programming and regional audience preferences.
• Participation in on-air fundraising or similar audience engagement activities.
Non-Exempt: Eligible for overtime

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
