About the role:
Lead GIS delivery on a major civil infrastructure project through the Design, Construction, and Handover phases. Collaborate with Digital Engineering specialists to prepare and refine spatial data for the Civillo platform, ensuring accuracy and structure. Reporting to the Digital Engineering Manager and supported by national and regional leads, you'll drive project success and contribute to the GIS team's broader vision.
- Support the development and maintenance of GIS-based solutions for infrastructure projects, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with project needs.
- Create maps and GIS outputs that meet the regulatory standards and norms, including compliance with metadata and cartographic requirements.
- Use Civillo for project data management, ensuring that the integration of GIS data is smooth and effective.
- Work with various GIS tools, including QGIS and ArcGIS Pro, to analyse and refine spatial data.
- Actively engage with the GIS team to share insights, contribute ideas, and explore opportunities for innovation.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in GIS, with strong skills across various GIS tools, including QGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and similar.
- Experience managing large and complex spatial datasets, particularly in infrastructure and urban planning contexts.
- Proven ability to produce maps and GIS outputs that comply with Victoria's regulatory standards, including metadata and cartographic requirements.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to a diverse range of stakeholders, including those less familiar with GIS concepts.
