Join Suncorp’s Environment & Climate team and help shape the Group’s response to climate risk and regulation. As the Climate Disclosure & Implementation Senior Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering Suncorp’s climate reporting obligations—both mandatory external disclosures and internal reporting to senior leadership—ensuring compliance and supporting strategic climate initiatives across the organisation.

 

What you'll do

  • Climate Reporting support: Support the coordination of Group reporting on climate-related performance from various sources within the organisation.  Work with business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability to support climate reporting and governance requirements. 
  • Reporting and External Disclosure Preparation:  Assist in the preparation of climate reporting to meet mandatory climate reporting standards.  Coordinate reporting and disclosure inputs required by internal stakeholders including reviews and approval of content
  • Compliance assistance:  Ensure compliance AASB S2 requirements in all climate-related disclosures.  Stay updated & recommend updates on evolving reporting standards and regulations related to climate-related reporting and disclosures within the Suncorp Group jurisdiction including undertaking analysis on peer reports.
  • Assurance: Support the internal verification and third-party assurance processes relating to the public disclosure documents and associated content within timeframes. This extends to management of assurance and legal reviews.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret and deliver climate-related reporting requirements. Coordinate and liaising with ANZ functions and business units on matters raised from reviewers including executive management and Board.
  • Implementation support: provide subject matter expertise to support the business deliver climate-related commitments.

What you'll bring 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated interest or recent experience in climate-related reporting, sustainability, financial reporting, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of climate-related financial risks and reporting frameworks such as TCFD is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and/or edit material suitable for publication in a range of different formats, with plain English as a key consideration
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to convey complex climate information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Strong research abilities to stay informed about evolving climate reporting standards and best practices.
