The Opportunity

Make an impact and join the Safer Community Unit team as a Forensic Clinical Specialist and Investigator.

The Forensic Clinical Specialist and Investigator assists with the ongoing operation of the Safer Community Unit, playing a critical role in the assessment, investigation and management of problem behaviour and complex mental health presentations.

As the successful candidate you will be responsible for conducting welfare checks, suicide risk assessments, and forensic assessments to provide specialist advice, recommendations and reports to the University to support staff and student safety and wellbeing. Additionally, you will apply an evidence-based best-practice approach to the risk assessment and management of concerning or threatening behaviour, as well as complex and high-risk mental health presentations, and sensitively manage incidents, focusing on the early identification and intervention.

The ideal candidate will have experience in an educational setting or substantial relevant skills and work experience. The role requires postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience in counselling, social work, psychology, nursing or a related clinical or behavioural field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in a relevant field.
