A bit about the role

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the professional development of the Maternal and Child Health team by providing expert clinical guidance, mentorship, and support within a collaborative and progressive service environment.

This Part Time, Limited Tenure opportunity for 2 years can be worked across 3 or 4 days (.6–.8), or Full Time for 18 months if preferred.

What you’ll deliver

  • Provide clinical support, education and supervision to Maternal and Child Nurses, Graduates and the broader team across a variety of sites including in-home support.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the MCH student and graduate program.
  • Develop and present educational materials, professional development opportunities, MCH procedures and guidelines, and resources for students, graduates and staff.
  • Influence the development of innovative strategies to support MCH professionals.
  • Utilise specialist knowledge and experience to promote a culture of research, quality improvement and clinical excellence.
  • Flexibility to work in the MCH service as required.
  • Assist in the development of clinical resources to support and enhance best practice

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated recent experience in MCH nursing for a minimum of five years.
  • Expertise in clinical practice, preceptorship and mentoring.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including experience providing constructive feedback and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Post Graduate Qualifications in Child & Family Health as recognised in Victoria to practice in Maternal and Child Health.
  • Current AHPRA Registration as Division 1 Nurse and Midwife.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in a variety of software programs and contemporary communication mechanisms.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History, Working with Children, Eligibility to Work, Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
