About the role
As the Team Leader - Tree Crew, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of arborists and tree maintenance staff in the care, pruning, planting, and removal of trees across the local area. Your leadership will ensure the safe and effective delivery of tree-related services to the community while contributing to the maintenance of our urban forests.
This is a full-time permanent role based at Councils Operations Centre in Knoxfield. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
This is a Band 4 classified role. Remuneration will be $71,212.94 to $75,849.47 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will bring to this role
The key selection criteria for this role are:
- A Diploma or Certificate III in arboriculture (or nearing completion) and relevant experience in tree management, including tree inspections and works allocation.
- Demonstrated previous hands-on experience undertaking tree works.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate staff and contractors to achieve established standards of performance with timeframes.
- High level communication skills both verbal and written.
- Capable of addressing issues in a positive and professional manner and the ability and willingness to mentor staff within the open space team.
- Knowledge of maintenance management software systems. An understanding of power line clearance regulations and practices.
- PC skills with sound understanding of Microsoft Office suite and experience with customer service databases.
