St Ambrose Catholic Primary School, Pottsville
(3 days) 

A Speech Therapist is required to work across two Primary Schools (St Ambrose and Mt St Patrick Primary School). The initial contract the remainder of 2024 with the possibility of it being extended beyond 2024.

The successful applicant will need to be a person who can show initiative, is adaptable and highly motivated. The role is diversified and entails working in a collaborative environment which will include working within a classroom setting, liaising with outside agencies and working closely with class teachers.

The successful applicant is not expected to work school holidays.

SPEECH THERAPIST

Full time, temporary position commencing 12 August 2024

38 hours per week

Applicants must:

  • Applicants must hold a current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school

 

Criteria:

  • Hold a Degree in Speech Pathology and current membership with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Experience in administering assessments, therapy sessions with students, completing progress notes/documentation, developing reports and support letters, correspondence with other professionals e.g. doctors, teachers, other therapists, work colleagues
  • Competency with discipline specific assessments and interventions relevant to young people
  • Experience and/or enthusiasm for working in schools, excellent communication skills, flexibility, the ability to work collaboratively with teaching teams, and the ability to engage and relate to students, parents and staff
  • Ability to work autonomously with a varied caseload

 

Award: Educational Services (School) General Staff Award (averaged) – Classification – Speech Therapist. Remuneration dependent on qualification. The successful applicant is not expected to work school holiday periods.
