Position Title: Digital Project Manager
Department: Library Instrctnl Sup/Archives
Term of Assignment: Grant term
Term End Date, If Applicable:  
FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt = overtime eligible
Work Schedule: The position is a two-year grant term. Traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required.
Salary: Targeted salary range: $41,000-$44,000
Travel: 10-25%
Brief Statement of Duties
Brief Statement of Duties: Primarily responsible for creating and implementing workflows and procedures to enable the effective acquisition, description, access, management, and preservation of a broad range of analog and born-digital content. Oversee and monitor all aspects of digital project work, including digitization of original materials, description of materials according to accepted metadata and collection level description standards, and online publication of digital objects. Hire, train, and supervise three undergraduate student assistants. Assist the project director and the UPLINK Board of Directors in publicizing and promoting UPLINK, including training network members in basic processing of historical manuscript collections.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Master's Degree
Discipline / Degree Area: ALA accredited Information Science, Library Science, Archival Science, or related field
Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Possess or ability to obtain a valid motor vehicle operator's license within the first two weeks of employment.
Required Minimum Work Experience:  
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Demonstrated familiarity with digital imaging and metadata standards and practices. Experience processing archival analog collections.
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, successfully balance competing priorities, and work with inflexible deadlines.
Ability to work comfortably with minimal supervision.
Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to effectively contribute to team projects.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
Additional Desirable Qualifications: Member of the Academy of Certified Archivists (ACA).
Possess a Society of American Archivists Digital Archives Specialist (DAS) certification.
Supervisory experience.
Experience working on multi-institutional collaborative projects.
Experience working with an OAIS preservation platform.
Experience working with ArchivesSpace and Preservica.
