| Brief Statement of Duties |
| Brief Statement of Duties: |
The assignment will include teaching a range of courses including invertebrate zoology, entomology, aquatic insect ecology, introductory biology, and advanced courses in area of specialty. We seek an aquatic biologist committed to teaching and scholarship with an active research program that will involve undergraduate and graduate students and will promote our department mission to foster diversity, equity and inclusion in the biological sciences. This is a campus based position. |

Ability to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: invertebrate zoology, entomology, aquatic insect ecology, introductory biology, and courses in specialty
Ability to incorporate active learning strategies
Ability to establish an active research program with undergraduate and graduate students
Excellent oral and written communication skills and time management skills
Commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and demonstrated excellence in teaching
Ability to develop and deliver curriculum
Ability to meet the demands of the position in a timely manner
Ability to assess student learning outcomes
Ability to work well with an instructional team, including but not limited to fellow instructors and assistants
Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills |

Ability to teach stream ecology
Demonstrated teaching experience in entomology or invertebrate zoology
Record of peer-reviewed publication appropriate to career stage
Commitment to the mission of a public comprehensive university
Willingness and ability to work interdepartmentally
Record of successful grant writing
Experience mentoring undergraduate students
Experience or interest in working with invertebrate museum collections |
