The Preparator will work closely with the Exhibitions Curator to produce high-quality exhibitions. The Preparator assists in planning, preparation, security, installation, and de-installation of gallery exhibitions and other display materials. Key responsibilities include; training and supervision of temporary work crews and student gallery workers on gallery installations, preparation and maintenance of exhibitions, storage, and preparatory spaces. Required: BA or BFA in Art, Art History, Museum Studies, BA in Design, or related field. Scissor Lift Certification, or ability to obtain certification within 3 months of hire. At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in art handling, gallery/museum work, or fabrication/installation, with an emphasis on preparation/installation strongly preferred.
Adjunct Faculty - Graphic Design Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Ferris State University's Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI, prepares artists and designers to have impact through practice. Responsibilities for a KCAD adjunct faculty member include syllabus and class preparation, instruction during scheduled course time, providing reasonable availability to students for consultation and assistance with respect to assigned course(s), evaluation of student performance, submission of final grades on the FSU Banner system, and archiving of both course material and student work as requested by the program chair and/or the Dean of the College. The mission of the Graphic Design program of Ferris State University's Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) is to graduate problem-solving, critical-thinking design innovators and creative communicators who are skilled in the latest technology, able to work collaboratively in a studio environment, and are passionate about art, design, and contemporary culture. Teaching assignments within the BFA Graphic Design Program include a series of introductory to intermediate design-related content and software/technology-based courses, for example, introductory and immediate typography, publication design and production management, and contemporary media (web and application design). Courses are to be taught in person on KCAD’s campus in Grand Rapids, MI. Online course delivery may be an option. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Adjunct Instructor 1 - Dental Hygiene Clinical Big Rapids, MI 49307
Supervision and evaluation of students in pre-clinical, clinical, and laboratory dental hygiene sessions, dental radiology, oral science or dental materials lab sessions. Will work at the direction of the Dental Hygiene Clinic Operations Supervisor. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August of 2025 at the earliest and January 2026 at the latest. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program, or a related field. Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist with certification in local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, CPR, and licensed to practice in the State of Michigan. Two years clinical experience.
Adjunct Instructor 3 - Forensics/Debate & Communication (3 year appointment) Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Humanities Department seeks applications for a Level 3 adjunct instructor in Forensics/Debate & Communication. This is a 3-year (9-month) appointment. This position may carry a dual responsibility of teaching and up to a 50% coaching load. The primary duties are to serve as the Coach of the Forensics/Debate Team and to teach two foundational undergraduate communication courses. 1) Forensics/Debate Team Coach (up to 50%) – The Coach will lead a dynamic and comprehensive forensics program, which may include individual events, various debate formats, and other relevant competitive activities. Responsibilities include: Overseeing team operations, including planning and organizing travel, budgeting, and student recruitment and retention. Collaborating closely with departmental leadership and the Communication Area Coordinator. Advising the university’s chapter of Pi Kappa Delta (chartered in 1960), with opportunities to engage with the national alumni chapter. The program benefits from over 65 years of strong institutional support and a tradition of excellence grounded in the values of Pi Kappa Delta. 2) Teaching Responsibilities – The selected candidate will teach two or more core undergraduate courses in Communication. These may include, but are not limited to Public Speaking, Small Group Decision Making and Interpersonal Communication. Depending on departmental needs and the candidate’s qualifications, there may be opportunities to teach upper-level courses in the Communication curriculum. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site. The start date for this position is August 2025.. Required: Masters degree in Communication or related field. Experience in Forensics and Debate. Experience teaching undergraduate courses in Public Speaking.
Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant Big Rapids, MI 49307
Assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Ferris State University Division II athletic programs. Assist Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in department wide administration of strength and conditioning, including but not limited to weight room scheduling and oversight and management of student employees. Pursuant to FSU-HRPP 2005:44, "Students currently admitted on a full-time basis, defined as carrying at least 9 credits per semester, to a Ferris State University graduate program and earning credits toward a graduate degree, may qualify for a Graduate Project Assistant (GPA) position". This is a 20 hour per week position. Work Year is August 1 - May 31. Required: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in exercise science, sports fitness, kinesiology or related field. Must be enrolled in a Ferris State University Graduate program for Fall 2025 semester, carrying at least 9 credits per semester. Must be working towards or already obtained Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification. Must become certified in CPR, AED and First Aid. Previous work experience developing and maintaining strength and conditioning programs for student athletes.

The Academic Advisor, Assistant Ranking will provide academic advising for majors in University College that will include assisting students in the development of academic plans and course schedules, advising on academic program changes and meeting with prospective students and their families.
