Adjunct Faculty - Art and Design, High School Dual Enrollment Program Grand Rapids, MI 49503
Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI prepares artists and designers to have impact through practice. KCAD has dual enrollment partnerships with many high schools throughout Michigan. These high schools offer students the opportunity to take KCAD classes for KCAD college credit. The classes are taught in the high school or in another site in the high school area. Responsibilities for a KCAD adjunct faculty member, for the High School Dual Enrollment program, include syllabus and class preparation, instruction during scheduled course time, providing reasonable availability to students for consultation and assistance with respect to assigned course(s), evaluation of student performance, and communication with KCAD regarding course outcomes and expectations. Courses are to be taught in person at the applicable dual enrollment Michigan location. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment.
Adjunct Instructor 1 - Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) Multiple Locations
Part-time doctoral-level teaching in the area of community college/higher education governance and policy at campus locations and online (hybrid delivery). In addition to teaching, part-time faculty are also responsible for typical course-related tasks (assessment, course development, and quarterly faculty meetings). The anticipated start date of this position is January 2025 at the earliest and May 2025 at the latest. This is a pooled position. Applications will be held until vacancies occur, when qualified candidates may be contacted. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes semester-by-semester. All DCCL courses are hybrid with some face-to-face and some online instruction. Candidates must reside in Michigan, Illinois (excluding Chicago), Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, or Wisconsin following acceptance of employment. Required: PhD, EdD, or JD relevant to the Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) program. Applicants must have executive-level leadership/administration experience in a community college or other higher education organization. Applicants must have teaching experience within higher education.
Adjunct Instructor 1 - Product Design Engineering Technology Multiple Locations
The School of Engineering and Computing Technology invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in the Product Design Engineering Technology program. This position requires teaching undergraduate-level lecture and laboratory coursework in a "hands-on" academic environment. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. This posting is used for face to face and/or online instruction. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions, candidates must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University’s campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2025 at the earliest and January 2026 at the latest. Required: 1. Master's degree in field or closely related area or a Master's degree and 18 graduate hours in field which may include Design, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial or related discipline. 2. Any Master's or higher-level degree plus a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in field and five years relevant industry experience directly related to course(s) taught. 3. A Bachelor's degree in field and seven years of relevant industry experience directly related to the course(s) taught. 4. The position includes responsibilities of all areas of the golf course grounds operations that include; mowing, weed whipping, maintenance of the golf course, practice facility, short game areas, and clubhouse surrounds. Required: High School Diploma / GED.
Adjunct Instructor 1 - Plastics and Polymer Big Rapids, MI 49307
Teach one or more courses in one or more of the following degree programs: Plastics & Polymer Engineering Technology AAS and Plastics Engineering Technology BS. Courses assigned may be lectures or labs; face-to-face, blended, or online. A focus on student success, safety, and use of current technology are expected. Regular office hours are also expected. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment The anticipated start date for this position is August 2025 at the earliest, and January 2026 at the latest. Required: A master’s or higher-level degree in field or closely related field and 3 years of relevant industrial experience. (all courses up through 400 level). A master’s or higher-level degree out of field with at least one bachelor’s or associate’s degree in field and 5 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught (all courses up through 400 level). A bachelor’s degree in field and 5 years of relevant industry experience directly related to courses taught; or an associate’s degree in field and any baccalaureate degree and 5 years of relevant industry experience (all courses up through 200 level). 3-5 years of relevant industry experience dependent upon degree obtained. Radiography Lab Assistant (Part time) Big Rapids, MI 49307
Provides assistance to Radiography program faculty in the laboratory setting. Work up to 28 hours per week, when students are in session. May be required to work some evenings. The anticipated start date for this position is April of 2025 at the earliest, and June of 2025 at the latest; however, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Associate’s degree in Radiography. ARRT Certification. Six months related professional experience.
Assistant or Associate Professor of HVACR Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Department of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position. Primary responsibilities include; preparing and delivering courses, utilizing effective methods that ensure that all course outcomes are met, and delivering courses in both a classroom and an on-line format. Advising students, recruiting students, developing industry relationships, developing curriculum, and serving on various committees within the department, college and the university. For in-person or hybrid teaching positions: Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. Adjunct Faculty - Art History Grand Rapids, MI 49503
The Art History program at Ferris State University’s Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI seeks qualified candidates to teach Art History courses. This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis. Courses are to be taught in person at KCAD in Grand Rapids. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment. The Art History Program serves students in all the art and design programs as well as Art History majors. We seek an outstanding educator who is an engaging speaker and can motivate and inspire students. Teaching assignments within the BA program will include the first-year Art History survey (Global Art I and II), with the possibility of other classes offered in the Art History program. Required: Master’s degree in Art History. Experience teaching a fully global Art History survey (covering multiple geographical regions beyond the west) in face-to-face classes as the instructor of record.
