The College of Arts, Sciences and Education seeks applicants for a Secretary Level 2. This position will support the delivery of academic functions within the college and provide primary support in the Social Work Department. The position will follow established college/departmental policies and procedures. The anticipated start date of this position is November 2025. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed. Required: Satisfactory completion of two years college or equivalent such as military technical training or business/technical schooling. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Equivalency for education is two years of work experience equals one year of education. Two years full-time secretarial work experience to include bookkeeping, supervisory responsibility, and public contact.
Personal Counselor/Assistant Professor Grand Rapids, MI 49503
The Personal Counselor/Assistant Professor is a full time, tenure track, 12 month position. Personal Counselors are responsible for providing individual and group, short-term mental health counseling and crisis intervention for Ferris State University (FSU) students. This is an embedded position working at the KCAD Grand Rapids site. The position serves as the primary mental health provider for all Ferris Students taking classes in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area including KCAD, Ferris State P3 and P4 Pharmacy students, Ferris Grand Rapids students, Optometry students, and any other students taking classes through the Grand Rapids Success Hub. This position may also provide virtual services to Ferris students on the Big Rapids main campus as needed. Personal Counselors are tasked with providing outreach, education, consultation and training to students, faculty, and staff on mental health topics. As this embedded position is physically housed outside of Big Rapids, the selected candidate will be empowered to make changes and recommendations based on client’s unique needs and experiences at the Grand Rapids site. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong sense of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to operate as a part of a team, as well as independently. Required: Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling and/or Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or comparable mental health professional degree. One year of demonstrated experience providing mental health therapy for clients with a wide range of psychological and emotional health concerns. Active license to practice in the state of Michigan. LMSW, LP, and/or LPC. LLMSW, LLP or LLC may be considered.

Adjunct Instructor - Pediatric Clinical Faculty (Part-Time) Flint, MI 48503
This position will initially involve in-person patient care at an MCO external clinic location (Flint, MI) two days per week and work in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and external partners to develop a patient base that will support future resident and/or externship education. This position will be responsible for clinic growth and development in coordination with Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and external partners. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at an approved Ferris site. Compensation for the position is determined by degree held, residency, experience and certifications. See Tiered schedule information: Tier 1 ($53.97/hour) Optometry (O.D. Degree) without Residency; and 2 years' experience; Tier 2 ($61.97/hour) Optometry (O.D. Degree) with Residency; and 3 years' experience; and Fellowship (FAAO, FOVDRA, etc.) or equivalent certifications ; Tier 3 ($69.97/hour) Optometry (O.D. Required: At the time of appointment, the applicant must hold the Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree. Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs Big Rapids, MI 49307
The Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs (ADASA) serves as Chief Academic Officer (COA), directing and coordinating all academic and student-related functions at Michigan College of Optometry (MCO). The ADASA provides leadership to ensure compliance with all accreditation standards related to academic affairs and student services. Specific responsibilities related to academic affairs include oversight of the curriculum, assessment of programmatic outcomes, setting faculty and student schedules, organizing disciplinary actions, developing policy letters, and maintaining faculty and student handbooks. Specific responsibilities related to student services include overseeing recruitment, admissions, student advising, development and analysis of key metrics that assess student success, well-being, and belonging. On behalf of the students in the Doctor of Optometry program, the ADASA will coordinate student interactions with the University registrar, financial aid office, graduation office, and other offices. The ADASA will provide leadership in awarding scholarships and awards, maintenance of student records, support of student organizations, and graduation of all students enrolled in the Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor of Vision Science degree programs. The ADASA is expected to establish and maintain a collaborative work environment with College and University faculty, staff, and administration, and College committees. The ADASA assumes the responsibilities and authority of the Dean of MCO when the Dean is unavailable. Limited clinical and instructional responsibilities may be assigned as determined to be appropriate based on expertise and academic background. Pursuit of research/scholarly activities is encouraged.
