Perform custodial duties independently or within a team environment as assigned, providing a high standard of cleanliness. This position is a Custodian, S-Th, 10:30 pm - 7:00 am. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Valid driver’s license. Custodial/Janitorial work experience in a commercial-hospital-school environment, in a commercial cleaning service, or completion of the Ferris State University JANUS (custodial) training. Demonstrated experience with correct operation of a variety of commercial custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaner, automatic scrubber, high speed burnisher, single disc scrubber, carpet extraction/shampoo equipment or other essential or similar custodial equipment.
Grounds Worker Applicator Big Rapids, MI 49307
Perform independent maintenance and repair of campus grounds, roads, walks, plant life, irrigation systems, and grounds equipment using approved environmental and ecological practices. Normal working hours are M-F, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. This position may require availability to work other shifts, weekends, and evenings, including overtime and responding to emergency calls. If required by job duties, the employee must be able to fulfill the University requirements concerning the issuance and use of University keys. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Valid driver's license. Valid (current) State of Michigan Pesticide Application License Category (Core, 3A, 3B). Three years full-time equivalent landscape maintenance and landscape construction functions as performed in a residential and/or commercial setting. Commercial pesticide spray experience.
Temporary Dishmachine Operator Big Rapids, MI 49307
A position classified as a Temporary Dish Machine Operator is available with Dining Services at The Rock Café. The normal working hours for the fall semester (beginning the week of August 16th) are 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off. The current summer schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with Friday and Saturday off. The exact duration of this temporary position is undetermined at this time, but it will not exceed one year. The employee may be required to work other times, including evenings and/or weekends. If required by job duties, employee must be able to fulfill the University’s requirements concerning issuance and use of University keys. Personnel who possess the special qualifications and training necessary for this position may apply. Provide food services support by preparing and serving food, waiting on customers and maintaining assigned area. Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Six months full-time equivalent experience in commercial food service to include food preparation.
Academic Advisor, Assistant Professor Multiple Locations
The Academic Advisor, Assistant Professor, provides academic advising for those in statewide and online programs that will include assisting students in the development of academic plans and course schedules, advising on academic program changes, and meeting with prospective students and their families. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with summer orientation and registration, responding to program inquiries, and maintaining timely communication with students. This position will be located on the east side of Michigan. Some travel is required. The anticipated start of this position is September 2026; however, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed.

The anticipated start date for this position is September 2026; however, this is an estimate and may be revised if needed.
