Postdoctoral Research Assistant III, S4 Alabama
The Lab for Applied Science at the Earth System Science Center is seeking a post-doctoral candidates to work on joint NASA/UAH projects. This position is for 2 years. The Postdoctoral Research Assistant will provide geospatial and information technology assistance and specialization within the Earth Systems Science Center. The candidate will work across multiple projects related to data science, machine learning, satellite remote sensing and numerical modeling applications.
Aviation Safety Specialist Alabama
We are seeking a highly skilled Aviation Safety Specialist with extensive experience in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations, higher education in UAS-related disciplines, and a strong background in aviation safety practices. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and institutional aviation regulations while implementing industry-leading safety protocols for UAS operations. Reporting to the Aviation Safety Officer for A2R, this position requires a deep understanding of UAS flight operations, risk management, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and accident prevention strategies to develop and maintain safety programs, conduct risk assessments, and provide training to enhance the organization’s safety culture.
Research Assistant IV, S1-4 Alabama
The Research Assistant IV will perform research and provide engineering support, computer science, or general administrative support to the technical lead for research projects in the areas of flight hardware systems, including but not limited to aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, rotorcraft, and ground vehicles.
Computer Scientist IV, S4 Alabama
The Computer Scientist will provide geospatial and information technology assistance and specialization for the Inter-Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) within the Lab for Applied Science under the Earth System Science Center. The candidate will be expected to work on data science issues in research and operational frameworks. NASA's IMPACT Project Office monitors trends and progressions across the informatics, data science, and information technology communities in order to inform strategy and develop effective solutions for Earth science data management and dissemination. Additionally, the IMPACT Project Office provides abroad user perspective as to how NASA Earth science data and information are represented and communicated. The IMPACT project fosters cross-community collaborations in order to improve all phases of the Earth science data life cycle, including processes, policies, engineering, and information communication.
Client Services Technician Alabama
The Client Services Technician position supports various departments by providing assistance with account management, customer service, and basic IT support. This role requires strong communication and multitasking skills, as well as a keen attention to detail.
