Construction Project Manager II Alabama
The Construction Project Manager II is a key member of the UAH Facilities & Operations (F&O) department. F&O is responsible for the planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of each of the University’s 90+ buildings and 500 acres. Under the general supervision of the Director of Planning, Design & Construction (Director), the employee manages various capital planning, construction, and renovation projects of a moderate to complex nature to ensure alignment with University and departmental goals. This role focuses on facilitating projects from concept through implementation in collaboration with the Chief Facilities Officer (CFO), the Director, and project stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: • Project Management: Manage projects from original concept through final implementation, coordinating scope, schedules, and budgets for moderate to complex construction and renovation work. • Compliance: Ensure projects meet all contract requirements, UAH standards, and applicable building and safety codes. • Coordination: Manage and coordinate the performance of design professionals, consultants, and vendors. • Reporting: Track project progress, budget status, and schedules, providing reports and updates to leadership and stakeholders. Note: Employment continuation is contingent upon the availability of future construction program management fee revenue funding.
Principal Research Scientist I, Step 4 Alabama
The Principal Research Scientist I, Step 4, will conduct advanced research and development in multilayer optical coatings, instrument hardware, and computational modeling to enable advancements in X-ray optic technology for astrophysical and high-energy applications. The scientist will collaborate closely with NASA Marshall Space Flight Center’s (MSFC) X-ray Astronomy Group under existing cooperative agreements to design, fabricate, and test reflective optical elements and to develop data-driven software tools that enhance instrument performance and coating precision.
Research Associate II, Step 1 Alabama
We are currently seeking a Research Associate II, Step 1, to provide support to NASA Earth Action science and application activities related to applications/product development, scripting, and analysis of optical, thermal, and synthetic aperture radar remote sensing data. Experience with Python, working with Earth Observation data, and a strong understanding of remote sensing concepts are strongly desired. The position will be located at the National Space Science & Technology Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and will support the scientific development and application of satellite remote sensing products.
Research Associate III, Step 1 - Data Analyst & Soil Lab Manager Alabama
The Earth System Science Center (ESSC) at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) seeks a Data Analyst & Soil Laboratory Manager to support environmental data analysis and soil laboratory operations within the Critical Zone Hydrology (CZHydro) Research Group. This position combines environmental data analysis (~70%) with soil laboratory analysis and management (~30%). The successful candidate will contribute to research focused on land–water interactions, soil moisture dynamics, watershed processes, and environmental monitoring across Alabama and the southeastern United States. The position integrates quantitative data science workflows with hands-on laboratory soil characterization to support applied Earth system science research.
Research Associate III in Hydrology Alabama
The Earth System Science Center (ESSC) at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) seeks a Research Associate III in Hydrology to support applied hydrologic modeling and water resources research within the CZHydro Lab. The position will directly contribute to activities supporting the Alabama Office of the State Climatologist, with emphasis on streamflow analysis, land surface modeling, drought monitoring, and regional surface water budget assessments. The successful candidate will work on process-based hydrologic and land surface modeling frameworks to improve understanding and prediction of water availability across Alabama and the broader southeastern United States. This position requires strong foundational hydrology knowledge and hands-on experience with modeling and geospatial data analysis.
