The Computer Scientist will provide geospatial and information technology assistance and specialization for the Inter-Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) in the Earth Systems Science Center. NASA's IMPACT Project Office monitors trends and progressions across the informatics, data science, and information technology communities in order to inform strategy and develop effective solutions for Earth science data management and dissemination. Additionally, the IMPACT Project Office provides a broad user perspective as to how NASA Earth science data and information are represented and communicated. The IMPACT project fosters cross-community collaborations in order to improve all phases of the Earth science data life cycle, including processes, policies, engineering, and information communication.
Research Assistant I, S2 Alabama
The Research Assistant I, step 2 is a new position that will be responsible for working on assigned projects and building a gene-disease database in the PTSD space. The position involves using AI and ML tools Neo4j and Open Target Platforms to explore and integrate transcriptome and proteome data. The researcher will have to write reports and contribute to writing scientific articles for publication. This is an on-call position for a temporary project or projects for approximately 4 months.
Principal Research Engineer III, S2 Alabama
The Principle Research Engineer III will conduct research on logistics functions related to the development and fielding of DoD and NASA platforms. Develops changes to technical manuals and verifies/validates the technical manual changes with stakeholders.
