Research Associate II, S2 Alabama
The Earth Science Systems Center is in the search for a Research Associate II, Step 2 (on-call status) to assist in the designing and fabrication of a new electric field sensor that UAH researchers are prototyping for several possible customers. The incumbent will work with the chief engineer to realize the mechanical design and also help with component identification for this new sensor.
Group Fitness Instructor Alabama
The Group Fitness Instructor will be responsible for providing appropriate group exercise and quality fitness instruction for University Fitness Center members, to include students, faculty, staff, community members, and participants.
Custodian Alabama
The Custodian is a key member of the UAH Facilities & Operations department, which is responsible for the planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of the University. As a Custodian, the employee's primary responsibility is to maintain the cleanliness of the University's buildings. The employee’s duties will be performed full-time either within the first shift hours (5:00 AM - 1:45 PM) or the second shift hours (2:00 PM - 10:45 PM, depending on current staffing needs within the unit.
Systems Engineer III Alabama
The Systems Engineer III is a senior-level professional within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) responsible for the planning, implementation, and administration of the university’s server, storage, deployment, and virtualization infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in systems administration and technology integration, applied within the framework of university policies and industry best practices. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communicates effectively, and works independently with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities: • Apply advanced technical expertise to develop and implement strategies that enhance system performance, security, innovation, and cost efficiency. • Perform system administration and management tasks in accordance with established change management procedures. • Develop and maintain documentation that adheres to OIT standards, including configurations, procedures, issues, and resolutions. • Expand professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning and by mentoring colleagues through knowledge-sharing and collaboration. • Partner with the Systems team to design, implement, and support IT infrastructure solutions. • Install, configure, update, and maintain operating systems and applications following best practices and configuration standards. • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to ensure reliable operations and optimal user experience. • Provide systems support including account management, security hardening, monitoring, backups, and application troubleshooting. • Respond promptly to incidents, alerts, and service disruptions to maintain continuous system availability. • Coordinate and contribute to team-based IT projects from planning through completion. • Perform other duties as assigned to support OIT and institutional goals.

Perform funded research and provide on-site support to the Army in the role of Operations Coordinator (Ops Cor).
