| The Computer Scientist II, Step 4, will support the Office of Data Science and Informatics (ODSI) within the Lab for Applied Science (LAS) under the Earth System Science Center (ESSC) at UAH. This role focuses on advancing data science capabilities to support NASA Earth science data management, access, and dissemination.
This role is suited for candidates with a strong research and computational background who can operate effectively across disciplinary boundaries and contribute to both scientific discovery and operational system development within NASA Earth science programs.
ODSI evaluates trends across data science and informatics communities to inform strategic direction
and develop effective, scalable solutions. The office also provides a user-centered perspective on how
Earth science data are represented, communicated, and utilized. The position contributes to cross-disciplinary collaboration aimed at improving all phases of the Earth science data lifecycle, including
policy, engineering, workflows, and information delivery. |

| The Research Technician supports the maintenance, preparation, and operation of
launcher systems for ballistic testing and research at the USASMDC-TC Aerophysics
Research Facility on Redstone Arsenal, Al. Responsibilities include fabrication and
modification of test hardware; installation and setup of test fixtures; and the assembly,
operation, and maintenance of launcher systems. Post-test activities, including range
cleanup, data recording, and technical documentation, are also a critical part of this role. |

| The EarthRISE Project Office, within the Lab for Applied Science (LAS) under the Earth System Science Center (ESSC), is seeking a highly motivated Data Science Associate with applied experience in computer science, machine learning, cloud computing, and remote sensing/geospatial datasets to join our Cross-Cutting Science team. The Data Science Associate will play a key role in the team by co-developing Earth-observation driven data solutions and geospatial artificial intelligence-informed services, and supporting workforce development activities in support of the EarthRISE Developers Academy. The Data Science Associate will also be responsible for supporting an array of cross-cutting thematic needs in expanding the applied research portfolio of EarthRISE’s Data Science efforts. A successful candidate will have a strong background in the fields of computer science, remote sensing, agentic workflows, and machine learning algorithms. As part of our diverse, highly dynamic group, you will work side-by-side with a team of exceptional scientists with interdisciplinary backgrounds to translate Data Science into actionable insights for decision-makers and stakeholders, while fostering your career growth and development.
