Laundry Assistants - North Melbourne

Job description

The Role

It may not be the most glamorous role at the shelter, but the Laundry Assistant Volunteer is important in helping us to keep the animals in our care warm, comfortable, and happy.

We care for over 18,000 cats and dogs each year and we currently have around 500 animals in our North Melbourne shelter, and you can imagine how the laundry piles up! That's why your role is so important.

In this role, you will sort, wash, dry, hang out, and fold blankets, towels, and toys so they are ready for use the next day. You may also sort through our daily donations.

This volunteer role is great for someone who wants to make a positive impact immediately.

Available shifts include:

Tuesday: 1pm-5pm
Wednesday:
1pm-5pm

Our minimum requirements for volunteering include:

  • At least 18 years old,
  • Available for one ongoing three or four hour shift per week,
  • Ideally available for a minimum 6-month commitment.

Due to the popularity of our volunteer program, we cannot guarantee that all candidates will be offered a volunteering opportunity. If you miss out this time, we encourage you to apply again in the future as more opportunities become available.
