LCRA has over 40 parks across Texas, along the Colorado River, that attract outdoor enthusiasts from across the country. As the Supervisor of Parks, you will lead an diverse team while managing maintenance and light construction projects in our Coastal District Parks, located in Matagorda, Texas. We have three parks spreading from Colorado County to the Gulf of Mexico. Our flagship park is Matagorda Bay Nature Park were the Colorado River meets the Gulf of Mexico which offers, 24 miles of beach access, sleek Airstreams, beautiful bungalows and 60 full hookup campsites for visitors to enjoy. You will be trusted to:

  • Provides leadership and direction to staff
  • Hires, trains, assigns work, evaluates and manages performance
  • Maintains awareness of department issues and responds to employee needs and concerns
  • Communicates with employees to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information
  • Strategically plans labor and associated expenses required to execute work projects.
  • Developing and maintain maintenance budgets, and forecasts
  • Following environmental and departmental policies and procedures
  • Performing routine facility maintenance and inspections
  • Managing contracts and projects with outside vendors
  • Operating with an in-depth focus on safety
  • Providing outstanding customer service to visitors and teammates

You qualify with:

  • Five or more years of experience in carpentry, plumbing, facility maintenance, landscaping or construction.  
  • Driver's license

  • Experience providing leadership, direction, supervision to staff and customer service
  • Skill in the operation of equipment, use of hand tools and power equipment
  • Skill in general construction, equipment repairs and facility maintenance
  • Skill in communicating effectively with team members, management, and the general public
  • Intermediate skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, electronic timesheets, expense reimbursement applications, etc.)
  • Ability to work efficiently, safely and independently with minimal direction and building a cohesive team
