You will be trusted to:

At an intermediate level, you will provide armed security services of LCRA property and facilities. This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills. You can expect to receive a moderate level of guidance and direction from a supervisor, manager, and/or more experienced colleagues.

- Patrol assigned LCRA facility and/or stand assigned post to detect and prevent crime.
- Assist police officers with the apprehension of suspects and other emergencies. Arrest under limited circumstances (felonies or breaches of the peace).
- Perform defensive tactics to affect an arrest and/or maintain control.
- Assist individuals with special needs and escort employees and visitors as requested.
- Assist emergency medical personnel as needed.
- Report security violations and equipment failures and other security or safety-related situations to the supervisor.
- Operate electronic security equipment (i.e., CCTV, video recorders, card access, 2-way radios, and alarm equipment).
- Assist in conducting investigations.
- Perform special assignments to protect life and property.
- Provide an elevated level of security response and incident reporting as required for Critical Infrastructure sites and to comply with North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) mandated standards.
- Request and review visitor and contractor documents and driver's licenses (DL) and call dispatch for DL and license plate checks when required by sites.
- We require successful completion of Public Safety department background checks, to include at the point of hire and periodically throughout duration of employment.
- We require successful demonstration of policies and procedures during simulator scenarios.
- Project employees in this job will be required to successfully complete incident reporting training, Security Academy training, firearms qualifications per department standards, OC pepper spray training, and incident command training.

You qualify with:

- Ability to obtain and maintain Texas Private Security Board Level III Security Officer commission
- Two or more years of experience in security, first responder, or military.
- Driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and maintain Texas Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center (TCIC/NCIC) CJP certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in Basic First Aid, AED, and CPR
- Must pass the CJIS fingerprint-based background investigation according to the State of Texas standards
- Maintain all CJIS training requirements
