At an expert level, simulates ERCOT nodal market in generation dispatching tool UPLAN and provides fundamental analysis for generation asset valuation, market forecast, and congestion trading. This position utilizes in-depth knowledge in UPLAN to help optimize LCRA’s portfolio and minimize overall costs to LCRA’s customers. Requires the ability to solve complex problems and look for creative solutions to assure LCRA delivers low-cost power to its customers. Works independently, with minimal guidance. May lead functional teams or projects.

You will be trusted to:
· Maintains and updates long-term multiple-scenario ERCOT nodal market models in UPLAN and conduct economic study for generation site evaluation, operation strategies, market rules’ impact and transmission projects.
· Performs simulations in UPLAN and develop views on basis spreads for LCRA generation fleets for CRR trading.
· Joins the short term ERCOT market forecast team. Helps to design multi-scenarios in UPLAN, map transmission outages and fine-tune the models in UPLAN if needed.
· Provides views of Transmission improvement projects that improve basis spread between LCRA’s generation and load.

You qualify with:
- Twelve or more years of experience in ERCOT energy market or relevant experience.
- A degree(s) in electrical engineering or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
