At LCRA, we are seeking a driven Senior Power & Gas Trader to join our asset management team! In this role you will identify and implement trading strategies that optimize a portfolio of pipelines, natural gas storage, and/or power generation in central Texas. This position would be responsible for managing and optimizing LCRA’s energy trading activities with a focus on natural gas and the ERCOT power market. Our ideal candidate would have a deep understanding of energy markets and have strong analytical skills. You will be trusted to:
- Analyze and interpret market data for the development of trading and origination strategies. - Identify and assess market risks associated with trading strategies. - Work with other LCRA employees to effectively maximize the company’s position and strategy in the market, including participation in market regulatory and policy directions. - Execute financial and physical trades of power and ancillary services, as well as financial and physical natural gas - Assist in the development and execution of monthly, weekly, and daily strategies for energy and gas purchases, sales, consumption, and storage.

You qualify with:
Nine or more years of experience in energy or gas trading, energy or gas marketing, energy forecasting analysis, energy structure analysis, financial or energy risk management, or other relevant experience. A degree(s) in business, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
