**This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days a week in office in Austin, Texas!
LCRA’s Surveying, GIS and Technical Services department is seeking a driven individual to join our GIS Products and Services team as a GIS Analyst II. In this role you will have the opportunity to support teams across LCRA including Real Estate, Engineering, Project Management, Environmental, Legal, Cultural and others to help us with the mission of enhancing the quality of life of the Texans we serve. We're looking for an experienced GIS Analyst to learn and grow with us. You will collaborate with veteran staff to become proficient in and perform key LCRA business processes, as well as act as an individual contributor to deliver and advance work products. The ideal candidate will show an attention to detail, a desire to work in a team and an ability to adapt to product delivery schedule changes to support customer needs.
You will be trusted to:
- Complete work on the landowner notification process to support transmission line maintenance and construction projects.
- Support internal project teams with spatial data queries and analysis, hard copy and digital map requests; researching, building, editing and displaying spatial datasets.
- Create map exhibits and sketches to support inter-departmental communication and customers.
- Provide internal customers with GIS data query results, spatial data analysis, and map products (digital and hard copy).
- Research, build, edit, and display spatial data, polygons and thematic coverages, and associated attributes including land parcels and easements, and create links to associated tabular databases using various software packages.
- Perform data acquisition, integration, quality control, quality assurance, development, and research. Data may include environmental information, demographics, land ownership, property boundaries, and other business related information.

You qualify with:
- Six or more years of experience in computer-aided drafting, using GIS data, automated mapping, map production or using GIS software or other relevant experience, including at least one year maintaining a comprehensive geographic information system. A degree(s) in geography, geographical information systems, computer science or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
You are a great fit with:
- Professional experience with ESRI software, i.e. ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with GIS spatial analysis methods, techniques and principles and ability to perform complex spatial analysis.
- Skill in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical information including engineering documents, construction plans, survey plats and legal descriptions.
- Knowledge of cartographic principles, i.e. map composition, design and production techniques.
- Skill in, and desire to, communicate both verbally and written with department peers and customers.
- Ability to understand and apply an ongoing technical process.
