At LCRA, our Plant Environmental Support Team is seeking a driven environmental professional to be our next boots-on-the-ground expert! This role will be the environmental cornerstone for our Generation Fleet, directly managing critical waste, wastewater, solid waste, and stormwater initiatives. Members of the Plant Environmental Support Team are respected and valued colleagues, providing technical expertise on a wide variety of environmental issues for LCRA’s generation fleet. You will be trusted to:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the following programs and rules: the EPA and TCEQ NPDES/TPDES wastewater rules, RCRA Industrial Solid Waste Classification and Management, TCEQ MSGP stormwater management, and Texas Spill Rules. - Conduct and oversee TPDES program sampling activities, MSGP sampling activities under the stormwater multi-sector general permit, hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, and other regulatory driven sampling/analysis activities. This includes directing and overseeing work of 3rd party testing groups on occasions. Develops requests for proposals for environmental testing/sampling and consulting services. - Prepare various environmental reports with submissions to TCEQ through STEERS and the Texas Water Development Board. Review periodic compliance program manuals, and other compliance reports. - Communicates with Generation plant management and participates in plant activities such as clean-ups. - Responsible for maintaining records in accordance with LCRA’s policies and procedures within each regulatory program assigned. - Responsible for entering and maintaining various spreadsheets in preparation for reporting to TCEQ.
You qualify with:
- Nine or more years of experience in assessment, interpretation, implementation or administration of environmental regulations, programs, policies or other relevant experience, including experience with preparing technical reports and communicating with regulatory agencies. - A degree(s) in environmental science, chemistry, wildlife biology, geology, ecological management, conservation science, business, engineering, risk management or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. - Driver's license

- Bachelor’s degree in an environmental science. - Experience in implementing the federal and Texas waste, wastewater, stormwater, and spill regulations as the rules relate to wastewater management and solid waste management at fossil fuel-fired power generation facilities. - Experience in boots-on-the-ground support of environmental programs at fossil fuel-fired generation facilities. - Experience in project management of environmental programs. - Experience in the management of documents supporting compliance with solid waste, stormwater, and wastewater management.
