At LCRA, we are currently seeking a Transmission Construction and Maintenance Crew Lead for our Heavy Maintenance Team. At a lead level, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of skilled craft personnel working in and around high voltage equipment in a power plant, substation, or transmission line environment. In addition, you will monitor day to day operations of personnel and assigned work area. The role requires the ability to plan how to accomplish work safely, manage resources and lead a team of substation electricians. You will be trusted to:

- In the absence of a supervisor, provide on-site leadership for all crew members performing duties for Transmission construction and maintenance projects
- Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.) as scheduled.
- Analyze system alarms, printouts and other information to determine appropriate action necessary to facilitate repair.
- Perform complex and detailed repairs, installation and maintenance of equipment in assigned area, which require extensive knowledge and experience. Perform final test, verifies proper operation and releases equipment for service.
- Perform job duties and responsibilities of a Journeyman.
- Be responsible for the safety of construction staff, contractors and members of the public in relation to the project site

You qualify with:

- Seven or more years of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment installation, maintenance or repair in a high-voltage environment or transmission line installation, maintenance or repair. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

- Class A Texas commercial driver’s license
