Engineer Sr -- Substation Engineering Austin, TX 78744
LCRA is looking for a Senior Substation Engineer to join our team. As a part of LCRA’s Substation Engineering Group, your expertise will contribute to the design and analysis of the transmission system in an organization that strives to enhance the quality of life of the Texans we serve. LCRA needs someone with authoritative knowledge of high voltage electrical substation design principles and can provide guidance for younger engineers, construction crews, and management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing high voltage substations and should be able to review and design relay/control projects. The ideal teammate should be able to produce specifications for major equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switches. Provide feedback to review and approve vendor drawings to keep projects moving.
Energy Services Electrician Austin, TX 78732
At an intermediate level, performs electrical work, including maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, adjustment, installation and/or removal of electrical power generation, transmission, distribution and/or control equipment such as motor control systems and interlocks, high voltage switchgear and protective relays. This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher-level knowledge and skills. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.  Installs, maintains, removes, inspects, tests, and repairs electric motors, generators, electrical circuit breakers, condensers, transformers, switches, communication systems, and electrical and electronic control equipment and wiring.  Locates and repairs failures in electrical and electronic circuits and equipment; installs test apparatus on all electrical equipment. LCRA River Operations is looking for a team player to support our flood and water supply operations. The primary work location will be at the Redbud Center in Austin, TX, however, field work may be required at times. During flood operations you may be required to work non-standard hours to provide 24/7 support for extended periods of time. Primary job activities include, but are not limited to, hydrological data analysis, modeling and reporting. Nav & Waterway Mgmt Tech II Marble Falls, TX
The LCRA’s Water Surface Management group is looking for a Navigation and Waterway Management Technician who will assist in water safety operations on seven LCRA managed lakes and downstream dams on the Colorado River. Duties include deploying buoys and barrier float security systems using a boat mounted crane and ensure they are proper maintained. The Technician will also perform water hazard management activities such as boat dock inventories, removal of hazards to navigation, removal and dismantling of docks, and assisting other departments with waterborne activities. Technician level 1 or 2 will be assigned based on the candidate’s experience. Our ideal candidate will have a strong river, sea or military experience working in all types of weather and water conditions. Must be able to handle boats up to 28 feet in length during extremely swift water and flood debris conditions. Highly proficient in waterway rules. Demonstrates experience in operating hydraulic crane equipment, and knowledge of rigging using wire rope and poly rope while waterborne. Taking initiative, being a team player, and following all safety, environmental and departmental policies, and procedures is highly desired. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to travel within the LCRA service area to various work sites (overnight travel accommodations provided as needed). Pumping Operator Bay City, TX
Works as a team member of a regional pump crew to operate and maintain pumping plants, relifts, irrigation dams and water wells in Colorado, Wharton and Matagorda counties for a large industrial irrigation operation. Operates equipment, troubleshoots, performs routine maintenance on equipment and facilities and completes daily written documentation. Maintains communication with the River Operations Control Center (ROCC) and Hydro Operations Control Center (HOCC) regarding river levels and changes in river conditions. During irrigation season may work independently with minimal supervision.  Operates, maintains and monitors irrigation pumps using manual and SCADA system controls, as required.
