Join LCRA in helping make ERCOT and the Texas utility grid more resilient as a Reliability Engineer in the Transmission Services Department. As a Transmission Reliability Engineer, you will be involved in the integration of one of the first synchronous condensers in both ERCOT and LCRA. The role begins immediately in supporting construction and commissioning of the synchronous condenser project (currently in the design review phase). Continuing after commissioning, the role will be responsible for overseeing the reliability of the Synchronous Condenser and auxiliary systems, with possible participation in the future synchronous condenser additions to LCRA’s fleet. Based in Austin, TX, this role will require semi-frequent travel to West Texas (Midland/Odessa area) during the construction and commissioning of the project and occasional travel for troubleshooting and maintenance oversight of the plant after startup.
The Transmission Reliability Engineer will play a key role in supporting the commissioning process of a new synchronous condenser, ensuring seamless integration and reliable operation. The engineer will also manage the balance of plant systems that support the synchronous condenser, such as cooling, lubrication, HVAC, electrical, and control systems. The role will be actively involved in the review of design, construction, commissioning and maintenance processes, ensuring all systems are aligned with reliability and performance standards. |
