The Lower Colorado River Authority is looking for a motivated and safety-focused UAS Pilot to join our growing team! This position plays a key role in performing flight operations, collecting high-quality data, and maintaining the integrity and performance of our drone systems. As a UAS Pilot at LCRA, you are responsible for planning and completing flight missions, operating as Pilot in Command (PIC), and ensuring a safe and professional on-site environment. You'll also gain valuable experience in UAS troubleshooting, post-flight data processing and contributing to an innovative team collecting remotely sensed data.
Transmission Reliability Engineer - Rotating Equipment (Hybrid) Austin, TX 78744
Join LCRA in helping make ERCOT and the Texas utility grid more resilient as a Reliability Engineer in the Transmission Services Department. As a Transmission Reliability Engineer, you will be involved in the integration of one of the first synchronous condensers in both ERCOT and LCRA. The role begins immediately in supporting construction and commissioning of the synchronous condenser project (currently in the design review phase). Continuing after commissioning, the role will be responsible for overseeing the reliability of the Synchronous Condenser and auxiliary systems, with possible participation in the future synchronous condenser additions to LCRA’s fleet. Based in Austin, TX, this role will require semi-frequent travel to West Texas (Midland/Odessa area) during the construction and commissioning of the project and occasional travel for troubleshooting and maintenance oversight of the plant after startup. The Transmission Reliability Engineer will play a key role in supporting the commissioning process of a new synchronous condenser, ensuring seamless integration and reliable operation. The engineer will also manage the balance of plant systems that support the synchronous condenser, such as cooling, lubrication, HVAC, electrical, and control systems. The role will be actively involved in the review of design, construction, commissioning and maintenance processes, ensuring all systems are aligned with reliability and performance standards.

As a part of LCRA’s Transmission Technical Support Group (TSG), your expertise will contribute to our grid operation engineering support and analytical tools development in an organization that strives to enhance the quality of life of the Texans we serve. We are a team that thrives on finding effective and innovative ways to support our customers or partners in the control rooms and onsite substations, and beyond.
