As a part of LCRA’s Transmission Technical Support Group (TSG), your expertise will contribute to our grid operation engineering support and analytical tools development in an organization that strives to enhance the quality of life of the Texans we serve. Transmission System Operator Associate (Electrical Engineering Graduates can apply!) (Onsite) Austin, TX 78744
Assists Transmission System Operator in coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the real-time operation and control of LCRA’s transmission grid after gaining working knowledge of power system fundamentals and control room operations. Performs entry-level or training duties associated with transmission switching including power restoration and firm load shed. Works toward obtaining ERCOT System Operator Certification and NERC System Operator Certification as coordinated with and directed by management. This is also a good alternative career starting point for electrical engineering graduates discovering power systems. Typically, the pay will put you ahead of traditional electrical engineering entry level jobs.
Transmission System Operator (Onsite) Austin, TX 78744
Coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the real-time operation and control of LCRA transmission grid at the System Operations Control Center (SOCC). Coordinates and performs switching of LCRA TSC, customer, and leased transmission lines, working with maintenance personnel in restoration efforts to safely and efficiently restore power to the end-use customer. Performs routine engineering analysis and calculations necessary for real-time line loading functions and load flow functions in order to adapt to changing system conditions.
