DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Accounting Specialist 2 for the Division of Financial Operations, Accounting Administration with the Payroll unit. This position gathers, compiles, and reconciles fiscal data; examines and verifies fiscal transactions, such as billing invoices, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, travel claims, or other financial documents; assists in the preparation of reports summarizing financial transactions; and may guide and instruct lower-level employees. |

What You'll Do:
This position will be responsible for the delivery of Special Assistance to individuals with a serious mental illness (SMI) determination with an identified need (as defined by A.A.C. R9-21-104) in the Phoenix Metropolitan area with activities that include: (1) education regarding an individual's rights, (2) advocate on behalf of clients, (3) assist clients in protecting their rights and obtaining needed services and (4) actively participate in the grievance and appeals process as necessary. This position also provides education, advocacy and support to the community as needed and as assigned.

The Disaster Reservist is a part-time, as needed position. Personnel either occupying these positions or hired for these positions are available to provide project support, act as additional /supplemental staff in the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) during activation of the Primary or Alternate SEOC for an incident, event, or exercise. This position provides the agency with the flexibility to expand and provide staffing levels to best meet mission requirements based upon the situation. Disaster Reservists are utilized to support any branch/section within the Arizona Division of Emergency Management and it is imperative they are able to work effectively in high stress environments and potentially adverse conditions during field deployments.
The Operations Reservist will deploy to act as liaison between the SEOC and county/local Emergency Operations Centers (EOC) and or Incident Command Posts (ICP) to support intelligence gathering in the field and supporting policy decisions to mitigate the effects of the disaster. The primary function of this position is to facilitate effective communication and coordination between the SEOC, county/local EOC and the ICP. The DRCI is required to have and maintain a working knowledge of assessing disaster effects, information gathering, incident command systems, incident action planning and safety procedures, and must have highly effective verbal and written communications skills.
Personally, prepares for any time (24/7) response and no-notice recall to the State or Alternate Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) and/or Joint Field Office (JFO) during disaster or exercise activations. Trains for specific SEOC positions and performs duties as assigned through internal agency policy. |

Maintains several databases that can consist of criminal activity reports, operational activity, court proceedings, evidence collection, retention, and disposition. Conducts background research for investigations through various law enforcement and open source databases. Document and disseminate information for law enforcement purposes to Department agents. Assists with documenting, recording, photographing, and the collection of evidence during search warrant operations. This position maintains and updates evidence inventory as well as squad activity and statistics. This position also tracks criminal and civil cases filed by the unit through the judicial process ensuring agents and prosecutors are always up-to-date with prosecution needs. |
