The Training Officer III (Curriculum Developer) is responsible for the development of agency-wide curriculum for delivery to all DCS employees and select contractors to assist in meeting their performance goals and achieve business objectives; designs, develops, implements, revises, and evaluates curriculum that meets industry and agency standards, is tied to the business outcomes of the agency, and is delivered primarily via classroom and distance-learning formats including computer or web-based conference; create and deliver certification programs to establish and maintain consistency in the quality and delivery of courses throughout the agency; establishes and maintains relationships with staff and management at all levels within the organization, leads design projects, and coaches less experienced peers; provide computer-based training software support; coordinate and participate in special training activities such as piloting new or revised curriculum. In-state travel may be required.
This position requires the ability to create and learn training related to new laws, policy, social work practice, and ongoing technological changes in the State's CCWIS system.
- Design, develop, and revise courses for delivery in a variety of media, including classroom and distance learning (computer-based training and web conference) to all DCS employees and contractors. Use instructional-systems design model to ensure effective training. Use training technology to develop and deliver classroom and distance learning products. Use visual management to show project goals, track completion of goals, escalate to managers and barriers and help identify countermeasures to aide in attaining goals. Identify continuous improvement opportunities and process implementation.
- Responsible for identifying and leading teams that consults with training sponsors, requesters and subject matter experts at all levels of the organization to identify training needs and ensure training meets stated objectives.
- Gather information from subject matter experts; research policies and procedures, legal requirements, agency programs, best methods and practices and other information relating to assigned training
- Responsible for working closely with others internal or external to the agency in order to advise best delivery methods to implement training. Implements completed training products, such as leader & participant guides, handbooks, manuals, training technology tools & other course material, including insuring course materials are available for launch, communication with stakeholders, providing support following course launch.
- Responsible for quality assurance on all statewide training developed and delivered by Learning and Development. Conduct quality audits to ensure all trainings are current to policy and procedure as well as fidelity to best practice. Responsible for updating any changes to policy, procedure and practice at time of notice. Also, conducts classroom reviews and advises on curriculum changes to Manager and update as necessary.
- Coaches/mentors peers in training development, design and delivery (informally as well as through certifications). In-state travel to deliver training and/or coach/mentor staff may be required.

-Work in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Articulate 360
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, psychology, public administration, another social or behavioral science or other acceptable field of study from an accredited college or university.
- Ideal candidate possesses 1 or more years of experience with DCS/CPS families as a DCS Specialist or Supervisor and experience teaching or training.

Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
Must be able to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card.
Must be able to secure and maintain clearance from the CPS Central Registry.
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
