The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry is looking for a professional responsible for a wide variety of complex time computation functions and administrative tasks and who generates correspondence and reports. This position also reviews and analyzes laws and policies governing programs and develops procedure, policies and work standards at the Arizona State Prison - Tucson.

- Receives, tracks and responds to inquiries
- Prepares affidavits and other professionally written correspondence
- Answers inquiries from Judges, law enforcement agencies, jurisdiction, inmate family members and inmates
- Ensures information provided is accurate and eligible to be released to the requester
- Completes complex time computation calculations in accordance with guidelines, laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Compiles information and produces complex monthly reports on Foreign Born inmates, releases errors and death row inmates
- Ensures information is accurate and deadlines are met
- Answer email requests and telephonic questions and provides efficient, courteous customer service
- Ensures information provides is accurate and eligible to be released to the requestor
- Prepares affidavits for attorney General’s office upon request
- Drive on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
- Federal and state laws, agency rules, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to inmate releases
- Methods of releases, classifications and time computations, techniques and programs including Google Docs/Sheets
- Arizona Correctional Information System (ACIS), types of inmate releases, principles and practices of releases
- Time computation procedures, mathematics, english including proper grammar, spelling and punctuation
Skill in:
- Applying and interpreting federal and state laws , departmental policies, and procedures pertaining to inmates release
- Communications including written, verbal and listening, problems solving, information gathering/research
- Information summarization/report generation, time management, office organization, typing, mathematical, interpersonal relations, attentions to detail
Ability to:
- Work in a fast paced environment, produces professional detailed reports and correspondence with accuracy and speed
- Analyze/interpret release policies, multitask
- Work with minimal supervision, compute complex time computations and release eligibility dates based on date of release, testify in court regarding intricate details of time computations, and governing laws and policies, prepare affidavits
- Interact professionally with the public using tact and diplomacy
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Administrative experience dealing with inmate release calculations and interpretation of Federal and State laws, agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.
