Facilities Administrator PHOENIX
The Arizona Department of Health Services State Laboratory facility at 250 N. 17th Ave. Phoenix, is 77,000 sq. feet and has been occupied since June 1, 2004. The Facilities Administrator position is required for the maintenance of all building infrastructure systems for the ADHS State Laboratory facility. The position will directly supervise one Physical Plant Supervisor II position and indirectly supervise two Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Technicians. The preventive maintenance records for all laboratory instrumentation will also be maintained. The Facilities Administrator performs the following duties: 1. Administers the planning of short and long range facility needs. 2. Recommends and monitors budgets for the facility. 3. Plans and administers the construction, modification and maintenance for the facility. 4. Recommends capital equipment replacement and disposal. 5. Directs the activities of several staff responsible for building maintenance, security, and janitor service and establishes section priorities and schedules assignments and activities. 6. Schedules and performs preventive maintenance procedures on all laboratory equipment and vehicles. 7. Approves specifications and and designs for projects and obtains bids. 8. Installs new laboratory equipment and implements methods for laboratory equipment repair and modification. 9. Maintains an equipment parts inventory. 10. Monitors construction and building modifications to ensure that it conforms to specifications, relevant ordinances and codes. 11. Supervises safety procedures and arranges for required inspections 12. This position works closely with the Facilities Administrators at the ADHS 150 building
