Radioactive Materials / Xray Inspector / Radiochemist PHOENIX
Performs work corresponding to the activities within the Quality Assurance and Improvement Office, Radiation Control, and the Laboratory Licensure and Certification Office. Assists or determines the issuing of licenses to laboratories (Medical Marijuana, Environmental, Clinical), maintaining current licenses (EPA, CLIA, ISO/IEC) for ASPHL by ensuring the minimum standards of proficiency, methodology, quality assurance, operation and safety, and ensuring compliance with ionizing and non-ionizing radiation. Conducts initial and annual inspections of laboratories, ionizing and nonionizing facilities to determine compliance with the Statutes or Rules. Review of quality systems by tracking documents, corrective actions, and other quality data. Conducts investigations of the operation of a licensed laboratory upon receiving a complaint or of an unlicensed laboratory performing compliance testing. This position is required to perform work at/attend meetings at alternate locations and/or travel (in and out of state) when necessary, possibly requiring a state, personal or rented vehicle. Corresponds with the regulated lab community or with regulatory bodies, responds to technical questions from the laboratories, development of standards, rule making and laboratory inspections. Perform, assist or review detailed investigative or inspection reports, statements of deficiencies, and correspondence regarding changes in the status of a laboratory's certification, or other types of legal orders. Has general knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within a discipline. Continues to build experience within the field. Develops competence by performing structured work assignments. Uses existing prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Preparedness, this position leads the development, coordination, and continuous improvement of business and operational functions supporting all division Bureaus. The Preparedness Division Operations Specialist provides leadership in business operations, process improvement, strategic coordination, and cross-bureau operational planning. Working with Division leadership, bureau leadership and Agency operations, this position evaluates existing business processes, identifies opportunities for standardization and efficiency, and leads initiative that improves the integrated functions of the Division. This position develops, implements, and continuously improves operational processes that enhance organizational effectiveness, promote consistency across bureaus, and reduce administrative burden on program leaders. The Position will function as a Division liaison to Agency Operations and serve as a team lead, working collaboratively with bureau leadership and staff with administrative functions, the Business Operations Specialist coordinates activities related to procurement, contracts, budgeting, position management, administrative operations, project coordination and process improvement. The Business Operations Specialist also supports Division strategic initiatives by monitoring operational priorities, coordinating cross-functional projects, developing performance measures and operational dashboards, and providing executive decision support through analysis, reporting, and recommendations. They will support the Division executive leadership in operational planning and organizational improvement.
