This ASH Locksmith position reports to the Security Operations Manager. This position is responsible to control, secure and manage an effective key control system. The ASH Locksmith shall ensure all locks on the Hospital Campus are in good working condition. This includes all locks in the Civil Hospital, Forensic Hospital, A.C.P.T.C. and General Services buildings. The ASH Locksmith shall ensure all lock hardware installed throughout the hospital is in compliance of ADA, OSHA, and JCAHO standards. The ASH Locksmith shall ensure they will maintain/prepare databases for all locking devices, inventories of supplies related to locking devices and issuing keys to staff as needed. The ASH Locksmith shall provide technical guidance in the installation of electronic access badges and equipment,
maintain the lock shop in an organized manner; developing written and statistical reports pertaining to hardware inventory and condition; providing training in the use of keys and special locking devices.
Ensure all State Hospital locks are maintain and in good working order and operation. This includes scheduling and implementing preventive and active maintenance of all hospital hardware and non-scheduled repairs. Compliance with ADA, OSHA, and Joint Commission licensing and locksmith regulations.
Performs reconciliation of issued keys and key blanks in existing inventory.
Maintains data base for identifying all lock, hardware and locking devices. Maintains data base identifying all issued keys and which staff keys are issued.
Maintain inventory of hardware supplies, i.e. padlocks, key blanks, lock pins, dead bolts, door knobs, key cores as well as other misc locking supplies.
Conducts in service training regarding use of keys and special locking devices.
Maintains the lock shop in a organized manner.
Develop and maintain a hospital wide lock, hardware inventory and condition report for quarterly submission to the Chief of Security.
Completing work order requests for work outside of scope regarding locking devices, keeping the Chief of Security, Security Operations Manager and Security Shift Commander advised of any lock failures or concerns.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): |
Knowledge of:
-Methods and practices involved in replacing installing, repairing locks and security systems.
-Specialized tools, equipment and materials related to locks and safety practices and procedures.
-Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
-High security biaxial cylinder pinning and pinning codes and levels of keying security.
-Performance Management (PM), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Lean methodologies.
Skill in:
-Computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.
-Utilization of Email.
-Excellent oral and written communication.
-Applying security procedures pertaining to locking devices.
-High level of customer services skills.
Ability to:
-Able to perform preventive maintenance inspections on a variety of locks and keying systems.
-Train others in the use of tool and equipment for locking systems.
-Able to utilize Keystone Web inventory software after training is provided.

The ideal candidate will have:
− 1+ year of experience working as a facility locksmith or 1 year in related security field.
Pre-Employment Requirements: |
Certified Facility Locksmith certification obtained within 6 months of appointment.
Valid AZ Drivers License.
A state hospital employee must be able to obtain a level One Fingerprint Clearance Card pursuant to A.R.S. 41-1758.07
