This position will be responsible for developing and disseminating resources to families with children newly diagnosed with a condition identified through newborn screening. Long term follow-up will include contacting families to assess needs, referring to community resources and condition specific resources. This position will also be responsible for performing critical and time sensitive follow-up and case management services for newborns and infants with abnormal dried bloodspot screening test results. This includes analyzing laboratory test results, documenting all actions in the laboratory information management system and coordinating follow-up activities among physicians, hospitals, parents and testing centers. This position provides customer service to doctors, parents and external stakeholders regarding newborn screening results.

The Rural Health Grants Specialist will lead the development, coordination, and management of agency-wide grant programs to support the strategic initiatives of Arizona's Rural Health Transformation Program administered by the Arizona Department of Health Services. This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including state agencies, community organizations, and federal partners, to identify sustainable funding opportunities, ensure compliance with regulations, and enhance the effectiveness of grant-funded initiatives. This position will oversee the lifecycle of ADHS' Rural Health Transformation Program grants from application to closeout, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This will include working with our financial area as well as creating and implementing processes for workplans, budgets, contract management, and grant closeout. This position will coordinate the agency's budgets, project narratives, and required reporting for the grant. In addition, the position will directly administer grant initiatives to develop billing infrastructure in county health departments and a request for grant applications for community-based projects that connect rural residents to health and social services. This position is grant-funded for a five-year period.
